Thoracic Extension Syndrome

Thoracic Extension Syndrome

This pain is usually located closer to the spine and is usually in 1 part of the thoracic spine.  This is due to increased flexibility into thoracic extension.  This is usually present in people who hold a very upright posture during both sitting and standing.

Change seated postures to utilize back rests and arm supports.

Utilize the abdominal muscles to resist compensated motion into thoracic extension when the legs and arms move.

Similar treatment as the Thoracic Rotation-Extension Syndrome.
